DIY EASTER CENTREPIECE WITH DUCK EGGS AND RANUNCULUS

Did you know duck eggs make adorable little vases for spring flowers? You can get them from your trusted farmer or an Asian grocery store. Yes, duck eggs are good to eat! They are richer and creamier in taste and are actually excellent for baking, because of their protein and fat content which is higher than that of chicken eggs.

Their bigger size and thicker shell also make them great for DIY projects like this Easter arrangement as cute vases for beautiful pastel-coloured tulips and ranunculus, some driftwood from the lake, moss, seed pods and some white pillar candles in different heights.

I love all flowers but the delicate ranunculus with their unique paper-thin petal texture and the special way they are laid out concentrically have always been one of my favourites. They come in an array of vibrant colours and, similar to tulips, they will last a long time in an arrangement, as long as you keep the water fresh.

There is something very enchanting about this arrangement, the soft pastel colours of the flowers paired with the light wood and darker tones of seed pods and moss combined with the light of the candles all seem like the perfect place for some little fairies to move in.

Make this centrepiece with your favourite spring flowers and nature’s treasures to bring in some spring vibes but be aware that a fairy might want to move in!

TIPS TO MAKE THE PERFECT EASTER ARRANGEMENT WITH DUCK EGGS AND RANUNCULUS

Always be careful when using candles in an arrangement with dried elements and never leave them to burn unattended!

You can secure the duck egg vases with some flower putty to avoid them from tipping over.

To get the most out of your spring arrangement, make sure to change the water regularly.

Gather everything you will need in advance to avoid interrupting your creative flow.

Cover your work surface with some old newspaper or a craft mat in case it gets a bit messy.

Make sure to step back and take a look at the big picture during arranging your spring centrepiece, since it is easy to get lost in small details. That way you can ensure everything is nicely balanced.

Trust your creativity and follow your creative instincts. Enjoy the creative process just as much as the end result and let go of any fixed ideas.

Be open to incorporating new materials or some you might already have and play around with different heights, colours and textures.
