SPICED HIBISCUS ICED TEA RECIPE

This vibrant and refreshing iced tea is made with loose hibiscus and rose hip tea, spiced with cinnamon, cardamon, cloves and ginger, a little lime juice and sweetened with honey or pure maple syrup. It’s tart and sweet with a little zing and one of my favourite drinks to make during the hot summer months.

You can make this delicious floral iced tea in a big pitcher and keep it in the fridge to enjoy a glass at a time or make lots of it for a party or picnic. It is caffeine-free and low in sugar and will certainly cool you down on a hot day.

It’s not only a delicious recipe to make for the whole family but also a rather healthy one since it is high in antioxidants, vitamin c, supports your liver and heart health, helps to reduce inflammation and boost your immune system.

This beautiful, spiced hibiscus iced tea will brighten your day and cool you down in no time! TIPS TO MAKE THE PERFECT
SPICED HIBISCUS ICED TEA RECIPE

Use whole spices for this iced tea recipe instead of ground ones for the best result.

Freshly grate your ginger. I like using a fine metal grater or zester instead of cutting it with a knife.

Make sure to freshly squeeze your lime juice and add it to the chilled tea.

You can use some lime slices and edible flowers for decorations.

Go easy on the sweetener of your choice- honey or maple syrup, and sweeten your iced tea to taste.

INGREDIENTS

Hibiscus and rose hip tea - I like to get a high-quality, loose hibiscus and rose hip tea for this recipe. You can also use a plain hibiscus tea if you’d like.

Cinnamon, Cardamon, Cloves - Use whole spices for this spiced iced tea if you can.

Ginger - Freshly grated ginger will give you the best flavour and that perfect spicy kick.

Lime - Use freshly squeezed lime juice to give this recipe a little zing.

Honey or Maple syrup - I recommend using either raw honey or real maple syrup, to add the desired sweetness.

The full ingredient list with exact measurements can be found in the recipe card below.
